Dry lining boards out walls and ceilings quickly and cleanly, with far less drying time than traditional wet plastering.
About dry lining
Dry lining is used throughout modern construction: stud partitions in loft conversions and extensions, insulated boards on cold external walls, battened and boarded masonry in refurbishments, and moisture-resistant board in bathrooms and utility rooms.
Boards can be finished two ways. A tape-and-joint finish fills and feathers the joints only, which is fast and suits large areas. A full skim over the boards gives a continuous plaster surface and a more even result under low, raking light — usually the better choice in living rooms and hallways.
Correct board choice matters: fire-rated board where regulations require it, acoustic board between rooms and flats, moisture-resistant board in wet areas.
